We checked into Climate Active roof coating to seal our roof as it had started leaking within the last year. We decided to go with the Climate Active roof coating because it came with a 15 yr. warranty and also as an added bonus we thought it would reflect some heat in the summertime. On Aug. 3, 2012 before any Climate Active coating was applied to the roof we checked temperatures in the upstairs parts room when it was 92 deg. at 4 pm, the inside temp was 98 deg. When 1/2 of the roof was done on Aug. 31 it was 92 deg. and at 4 pm it was only 87 deg. inside. We also checked the temperature of the perlins inside and on Aug. 3rd they were 120 deg. We also checked them after the Climate Active roof coating was applied on a 78 deg. day the perlins were 79 deg. at 4 pm and on the unpainted roof the perlins were 99 deg. Our parts people have really appreciated the cooler temps on those hot summer days. We also noticed that in cold weather the perlins are 10-15 degrees warmer on the Climate Active roof, so we are hoping to get some energy savings as a bonus.

Ray's Protective Coatings, Inc. was the applicator contracted to install the Climate Active roof coating. They also recreated the lettering over the finished surface and did an excellent job prepping the roof and making sure everything was sealed. They were very professional and made sure none of the cars or airplanes got any overspray on them. They also made sure everything was cleaned up each evening.
